Tutoring Applications Closed Until Further Notice
The Job
We are looking to offer part time teaching roles to motivated individuals in the various fields of contemporary fashion, textiles and related design disciplines like fashion illustration. Our existing intensive knit design courses have achieved excellent results in quick time with our focus upon the right course structure, tutor, equipment and environment.
The Timescale
We want to receive cv’s and brief course outline ideas as soon as possible and would thereafter arrange initial meetings with those individuals that we consider suitable for these positions. Our aim is to have the first 1 week courses in place by Summer 2011 or earlier if possible.
The Tutors
You do not have to have been formally trained or come from a teaching only background, in fact we positively favour those individuals who have worked in industry as professionals in their field or run relevant businesses. Our courses are geared to the demands of the industry and are in tune with the business of fashion. Your skills will be real and technical rather than academic and theoretical. This new businesslike approach to the teaching is exciting and also offers the tutor the opportunity to ‘partner’ with Knit-1 Ltd in commercial spin-offs linked to their course. This aspect would be discussed in detail at the interview stage.
Our close links with our fashion industry customers drive our thinking and it is in this way that we have delivered modern courses, the range of which we are now ready to expand.
